Conflict-free diamonds (Kimberley Process)
Meridian Watches only buys and sells diamonds from sources we have reasonable grounds to believe are conflict-free, in line with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties.
Responsible gold and precious metals
Recycled and pre-owned gold, platinum, and silver form the core of our jewellery business. New material is sourced exclusively from refineries that follow the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, or that hold LBMA Responsible Gold accreditation.
Coloured stones
We require suppliers of coloured stones to disclose country of origin and treatment. We do not knowingly trade in stones from sources subject to active international sanctions.
Pre-owned timepieces
The majority of our stock is sourced through trade-ins and consignment from private clients within the EU/EEA. Each acquisition is logged with seller identification and serial number to safeguard against stolen property.
Stolen property register checks
Every incoming watch is checked against international stolen-property databases (including The Watch Register) prior to listing. Any positive match is reported to law-enforcement authorities.
Industry standards
Our sourcing standards are aligned with the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Code of Practices. Suppliers in breach of these standards are removed from our approved list.
